Not every knee condition requires surgery. Following your child’s consultation and any necessary diagnostic tests or scans, the surgeon will recommend the most appropriate treatment plan.
If private surgical treatment is required, the typical cost with the Paediatric Knee Clinic surgeons at Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital is usually between £7,500 and £12,500, depending on the nature of the injury and the procedure required.
The Nuffield Health Price Promise is our unique offering to patients paying for their own treatment.

The fees for private surgical treatment are ultimately set by Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital rather than the Paediatric Knee Clinic. This is why the hospital offers the Nuffield Health Price Promise, giving self-paying patients greater clarity and reassurance about the cost of their treatment.
The price you’re quoted is the price you pay.
Clear and transparent pricing that covers your clinical care before, during and after your treatment with no hidden costs.
After you’ve paid for your initial consultation(s) and any required diagnostic tests, scans or investigations, you will receive a full procedure quote including any aftercare you need as part of your treatment.
We will provide you with follow-up advice, treatment or care that is clinically required if you experience a complication as part of your treatment/surgery.
Paying Privately
You fund the cost of your treatment directly from your own funds
Personal Medical Loan
Offered from Nuffield Leeds Health Hospital via their dedicated finance partner Chrysalis Finance with option to spread the cost over 10-36 months, subject to status and acceptance
Private Medical Insurance
If you are paying for your procedure with medical insurance, then you need to liaise closely with your insurance provider throughout your treatment.
You should be aware of the terms and conditions of your policy and let us know if there are any limitations.
When you attend the hospital for treatment, please make sure you bring the following:
Medical insurance registration documents
Completed claim form/proof of pre-authorisation by your medical insurer.

If you don’t have all your insurance details with you when you first come into hospital for treatment, you may be asked to settle your account in full before leaving.
As part of your treatment, and to ensure we can support you as quickly and smoothly as we can, we will need to take a swipe of your bank card before your procedure. We won’t take any money without your prior knowledge and will only process information in compliance with our data privacy policy. This is necessary to proceed with your treatment. Treatment could be refused if card details aren’t provided.
Additional Costs During Your Stay
Additional costs for any extras, such as telephone calls, newspapers and magazines and visitor meals, will be invoiced and must be paid when you leave the hospital.
We are happy to answer any questions and help you understand the financial aspect of your treatment.
Please note:
It is possible that you may have an excess on your policy or some charges may not be settled by your insurer or third party. It is Nuffield Health’s policy to request card details as part of the booking process.
Your credit/debit card details will only be used to secure payment in the event of any shortfall by your Insurer and you will be notified of the shortfall amount by the hospital.
