Growing Pains – When Should I Be Concerned?
Your child is complaining of leg pain, and you put it down to growing pains...

The Paediatric Sports Knee Centre was established to give young patients and their families access to clear guidance and specialist knee care.
We focus on ACL, meniscal, ligament and other sports-related knee injuries affecting children and adolescents. Because young knees are still developing, every assessment considers the injury alongside the patient’s stage of growth, activity level, sporting goals and long-term knee health.
Our aim is to help families understand the problem, explore the appropriate treatment options and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Together, Dave Duffy and Prof Nick London provide considered, evidence-led care for young patients with ACL, meniscal, ligament and other sports-related knee injuries, recognising that each child is different and that treatment decisions must account for both the injury and the needs of the growing patient.
The Paediatric Sports Knee Clinic is based at Nuffield Hospital Leeds, where patients can access specialist paediatric knee care in one convenient location.
